Easy Solutions:
Keeping Your Heart Healthy!
Let me be the first to wish you a Happy Heart Month! Every year in February, there are certain foods that make the headlines as ‘heart healthy choices.’ They typically include salmon, walnuts, avocados, ground flaxseed, oatmeal, olive oil and a huge assortment of fruits and vegetables. Well, yes, these are great choices to keep your heart healthy. But, they’re also the kind of foods that will give you energy, fullness and deliciousness in every bite. Be sure to make choices for your heart every day – you’ll thank yourself all your life!

3 Tips for Heart Healthy Eating & Snacking:
- Plan and pack a snack of walnuts and raisins for the mid-morning or the mid-afternoon.
- Try making salmon salad for lunch. It’s easy with a can of salmon, a couple spoonfuls of nonfat yogurt, chopped celery and a squeeze of fresh lemon.
- Go with whole grain pasta and then try making your own Marinara Sauce to serve over the top. Here’s my recipe for Easy Homemade Marinara Sauce.
- Learn how to cook quinoa, a heart healthy choice and tasty whole grain. Then, add it to your plate.
