Grab n Go Grocery Store Snacks
There are so many choices at the grocery store for snacks.

A snack attack calls for a quick solution — like the grocery store.

When you need a healthier snack then take a quick dash into the closest grocery store. It’s efficient and it can work beautifully in your home town or on a road trip out of town. Here are lots of options to choose from as you fill a hunger-gap between breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Dash to the Produce Department for these single serving choices:

  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • Clementines or tangerines
  • Baby carrots
  • Cut-up melon, mango, or pineapple
  • Cut-up carrots and celery

Dash to the Deli for these creative foods:

  • Small order cabbage slaw
  • Mild cheese rounds, wrapped
  • Hummus cup, in multi-pack
  • Olives from the olive bar
  • Small roll or bagel

Dash to the Grocery Aisles for these fun foods:

  • Applesauce cup, in multi-pack, no sugar added
  • Diced peaches or pears cup, in multi-pack, in juice
  • Popcorn or plain pretzels, in single serving bags
  • Mini-Raisin boxes
  • Mini-Craisin boxes
  • Nut pouches
  • Peanut butter, in single serving cup
  • Granola-nut bar, in multi-pack, with less added sugar

Dash to the Dairy Department for these creamy foods:

  • Lower fat cottage cheese with fruit, in single serving cup
  • Lower fat or nonfat string cheese, wrapped
  • Nonfat or low fat yogurt, in single serving cup, with less added sugar
  • Cracker-size cheese squares to put with a whole grain cracker.

The Grocery Store is a Quick Solution for Healthier Snacks

There are many positive outcomes of a grab-and-go, healthier snack when you are hungry. They include overcoming a feeling of being ‘hangry’, to planning ahead for a day when your meal schedule won’t be normal. And, if you have kids or grandkids then both of these 2 scenarios will need quick action, as you know. When you drop into a grocery store for a nourishing snack, it will always pair perfectly with water. So, be ready and carry water with you at all times if you can.
