A Lunch that Satisfies with 7 Realistic Menus to Try

A burger made from ground beef or veggies is a good start to lunch!

How do you roll with lunch? There are many options so be sure to include nutrition that satisfies you.

Lunch Options

Lunch is the kind of meal that can refresh one’s energy and provide a needed ‘pause’ in a busy day. Please make it a priority to stop around the midday whether your lunch is hot, cold, from a restaurant, from a grocery store, or from home. And try your best to eat lunch without rushing, for better digestion.

Lunch Satisfiers

Foods that contain protein and/or fiber are especially good ‘filler uppers.’ They are digested fairly slowly and so they will keep you feeling more satisfied, sometimes even hours later. These include fruit, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and protein powerhouses such as beef, pork, lamb, poultry, eggs, and dairy foods like Greek-style yogurt and cottage cheese.

7 Realistic Menus to Make Lunch Satisfying

Try one of these soon:

1. Whole grain toast with tuna salad & sliced avocado on top. Squeeze of lemon juice. Fresh orange. Small handful of almonds.

2. Slices of cucumber topped with chickpea hummus. Half a whole wheat pita bread. Salad made of shredded cabbage, tomato, olives, and EVOO. Fresh grapes.

3. Chicken salad spread onto whole wheat or rye crackers. Fresh celery and carrot sticks. Fresh cantaloupe or watermelon.

4. Cup of chili with beans. Corn tortilla chips. Avocado slices. Mango chunks.

5. Egg omelet with Bell peppers and onions. Grits or half bagel. Pineapple chunks canned in juice.

6. Beef or veggie burger with tomato & salad greens. Small handful peanuts or walnuts. Fresh apple slices.

7. Grilled chicken & rice. Tossed green salad with EVOO. Fresh pear.
