Spring Meal Tips:
- March is National Nutrition Month! The theme for 2015 is ‘Bite into Good Nutrition’ with an emphasis on putting together a colorful meal plate. Make your goal to eat all the colors of the rainbow and don’t forget spring favorites like asparagus, radishes, and all the lovely leafy greens!
- April is Save Your Vision Month! Vitamins C and E, zinc, carotenoids (relatives of vitamin A) and omega-3 fatty acids all play a role in eye health. Foods to target include spinach, kale, Brussels sprouts, strawberries, papaya, green peppers, nuts, seeds and wheat germ.
- The Crockpot or Slow Cooker continues to come in handy in spring. So handy to set it up in the morning and return home to an easy dinner meal after work. Check here for ideas & recipes of what to make. Add a steamed veggie or leafy green salad to your plate for a tasty and complete meal.
